You have to admit, this problem is temporary in its very nature. :) Best avoided by tagging the albums properly the first time, so you won't have to revisit.
Now to answer your questions: 1) I don't think so. 2) There are a lot of utilities to set the date to something specific, but I am not aware of any software that does exactly what you want.
