Wow - what a response. Thanks all. Aubuti - I dismissed this route originally because I was trying my old contacts at Hermstedt. When they didn't respond (phone/email) I assumed the rumours of company problems were true and that the dream was over - hence my search for alternative help. Silly me. - I tried the link you sent me and filled-in the support form. I didn't hold out much hope, though. Within a day I had a response from supp...@hifidelio.com directing me to EN ElectronicNetwork Eberbach GmbH and their service manager. - I have exchanged several emails with EN's service manager and he has sent me a quote for 275 - this covers the upgraded 500GB HDD and the transfer of my music from my damaged HDD. - Unfortunately, they were not able to undertake my requests for a proper IEC 'kettle cord' socket (replacing the fig-8 socket) or attenuate the analgue inputs by 6dB (I currently use Russ Andrews attenuators to achieve the level-granularity I require when recording my vinyl LPs). - Point-taken about "Hifidelio having absolutely no association whatsoever with Logitech or with Squeezebox" - I was clutching at straws - but it worked, didn't it - I found you :) :)

I'll try it - once I've made a backup disk :) You may well be right about the PS but I'm going for the upgrade. vrette - thanks - I found Olive myself (clever me) and their UK office were going to be my next port of call.
