Adding a linear power supply is considered by many to be a good way to increase the sound quality of an SB3. Welborne Labs sells a linear power supply for the SB3 for about $250. It's on sale right now for $212 assembled or $165 in kit form. The ELPAC WM220-1 was a popular choice while they were available. Good luck.
