Yes it can suddenly drop of the radar, but for me it imidietly reconects so I experience no ill effect. Some routers have problems with wifi devices with power saving features , if you have similar issues with phones or the squeezebox controller , you have one of those . An experiment connect the iPad to it's charger does it still drop out ?
