Thanks for the suggestions--my server (iMac running Snow Leopard) is wired to my DLink router, then all my players are wireless because they are all in different rooms (and floors) of my townhouse. I have not had any throughput problems before but if the access point could be a bottleneck I'll unhook it and stream the Touch wirelessly again tonight to see. The strange thing is the hi rez files play fine (except for the 24/192 I downloaded by accident instead of 24/96) through the USB stick plugged into the Touch. I was under the impression if I could stream these hi rez files from my iMac, LMS could transcode (downsample? what do you call it?) the 24/192 files into something the Touch would play.
