I'm inclined to say use the connector used for the SBT, so that as an upgrade people may use/buy higher end power supplies built for the SB.
Are there any plans for a power indicator light, preferably one that could be seen on the front of the box? Seems to me we'd be looking at some difficult basic troubleshooting if there's not some means of simply determining if the device is powered on.
