Yes, iPeng has a few Apps of it's own. With the exception of Twitter they are essentially web site links that open in iPeng's browser although Facebook specifically does some additional handling, too. They are meant to play links from web sites on your Squeezebox so you can use this Facebook "App" to play those Spotify links your friends post (for example).
It's been there for a while under "App Gallery->iPen Apps". The reason it now shows up by default is threefold: 1. There is no longer a registration menu for Facebook. Sharing on Facebook, Twitter etc. is now done through the standard iOS control in iPeng 7 (knowing the user has iOS 7 helps sooooo much with some things) so the whole Facebook authorization code is gone. 2. Logitech discontinued the Facebook App so some users (it had quite a number of them) might want a replacement and not everybody always visits the App Gallery. 3. It didn't really make sense to add another configuration menu for the Facebook item, now that the main menu is fully configurable and you can hide anything you like. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 7, the Universal App for iOS 7* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100478 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
