It sounds as if you are using "Music Folder", which is probably the slowest of browse methods, especially for someone with a lot of objects in the folder. So if you don't have the "B" folder further divided into sub-folders such as "Jeff Beck", "Beatles", etc. then you are really shooting yourself in the foot. Even if you have sub-folders for each artist in "B", some of those 26 alphabetic folders are likely to have 200+ sub-folders.
All of the other browse methods rely on the database that LMS builds, so browsing is both faster and more flexible. Maybe you're already using those and it's still too slow, but that isn't clear from your post. If you are using those methods and it's still too slow, then the issue could be an underpowered server, network latency, or something else. EDIT: You're confusing LMS and mysqueezebox.com (aka mysb.com for those of us too lazy to type the full name in forum posts), as well as confusing what each of them does. You definitely need LMS to play your local music. And no, mysb.com does keep a log of your music so that you can play it from remote locations. Rather, mysb.com gives you access to internet radio and online services such as Pandora, Deezer, Spotify, MOG, Rhapsody, Slacker, etc (depending on what country you live in) so that you can listen to music when your computer running LMS is switched off.[/QUOTE wrote: > > > Thanks for you reply and sorry that I wasn't clear.
