Sounds like at least for 7.8 and 7.9 I should rely on it for cache purging? Is "lastscan" updated whenever BMF finds new music?
I think I did fix a few issues with the lastscan value, including BMF, as the web UI's new caching in 7.9 does rely on it, too.
