Hi all, I was in exactly the same boat as MrClive, as I had some old devices which would no longer support Napster.
I bought the same kit (RPi2 Model B) and put the noobs install of Max2Play on an 8GB class 10 micro SD. I installed pretty much everything, including Kodi and Shairtunes (which turns your squeezeboxes into Airplay devices). It's been running for just over a month now and it's absolutely flawless. No outages and no lag, even when playing movies on Kodi (which runs very smoothly indeed). There's a "filesystem mount" section where you can direct to NAS drives (samba or NFS), so there's no need to do any form of coding whatsoever. I thought I'd comment, as there was one issue I had which took me a while to figure out relating to Triode's Spotify plugin. If you enable Kodi, it has a conflicting LMS listening port - you'll need to make two simple changes on LMS: change the Spotify Helper App port to 9010 and the LMS CLI port to 9099 (from the plugin options). Restart the PI and Triode's Spotify plugin works flawlessly. Also, this may be down to dodgy Wifi (even though my boom said it had 45% signal), but I noticed that everything would work fine before stopping and starting constantly. A bit of testing later and it turns out it was the boom - as soon as I hard wired it over Powerline it was perfect. No problems since. Hope this helps someone. Long live the squeezebox! Adrian P.S. I'm running 1 Touch, 3 Radios & 1 Boom. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ademathews's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62550 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103641 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
