Oh my, that's bad. This is a real issue especially with Apps they can't easily test. The number of metadata rejections due to edge case issues I've been getting over the last year has been much bigger than in the past, too. And actually most of those were about issues that can theoretically hit every Squeezebox App.
And yes, they _do_ try to test updates again and they are probably becoming stricter as you can see from the news about App Store removals for several issues going around recently.
