As I understand it ReplayGain works as long as you stream data to Chromecast as PCM (i.e uncompressed). Gapless is in the hands of Google and currently is not supported for streaming from third party devices. This may have changed but like you, I don't have the time to read every post in this long thread to find out. :-)
