Which model Pi's are we talking about ?

Are they wired or wireless ?

I have a pair of synced Pi2's both running piCorePlayer. One has a
HiFiberry DAC and the other has a iQAudio DAC. Both are wired. Sync of
my local files (FLAC in the main) is pretty good but there is noticable
audible drift when I play Spotify.

I also have a Pi3 running piCorePlayer that uses a HiFiMe Sabre USB DAC.
I have synced that with the pair of Pi2's in the past and I don't
remember it being an issue. This would also have been wired.

I wouldn't try to sync if any of them weren't wired. My experience is
that wifi is inherently not as stable as a good old wire.

In addition the Pi3 has an issue on the internal wi-fi card where it
won't pick up NTP time.
