I not only did that, I moved the entire operation from a Win10 pc to a
PCP, and then of course did a full library build. This was after the
genre tags were rationalized. Made no difference. After some further
changes (on the PCP) I did a full wipe and rescan. Also made no
difference. As noted, no actual files are identified as being in the
genres, so no tags attached to a file are being read. I assume if there
were the files/tracks would be identified. 

The issue is that a genre appears to be on a list, which is displayed
under genres, but no actual files are thus tagged.
