I think the larger issue with old, "real" Squeezeboxes is they don't support WPA2-AES encryption, only WPA2-TKIP which is considered not secure any more.
I've had good luck connecting old Squeezeboxes (Classic, Boom) to a WPA2-AES mesh WiFi network (WiFi 5, -not- WiFi 6) with 'Vonets VAR11N-300 adapters' (http://www.vonets.com/ProductViews.asp?D_ID=17). owner of the stuff at https://tuxreborn.netlify.app/ (which used to reside at *www. tux.org/~peterw/*) Note: The best way to reach me is email or PM, as I don't spend much time on the forums. *Free plugins:* AllQuiet Auto Dim/AutoDisplay BlankSaver ContextMenu DenonSerial FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116158 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
