For the investment you're making, you could hire Perl programmers to strip down the SlimServer code to its bare essentials. For that matter, you could hire someone to write code for streaming music to a Squeezebox in any language you wish - search this forum for "CLI" (command-line interface). Hobbyists and enthusiasts are doing this on their own, so it should be fairly easy for a professional programmer to come up with something. The fact remains, -something- has to generate packets for the Squeezebox, and that something is a server. If you don't want to use a server, the Squeezebox is not for you. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24294 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
