I wouldn't do it. I've had to unplug/plug in my SBs on a couple of occasions to get them back among the living.
If you don't want to be able to see the SB, then obviously you plan on controlling the music in some other way, such as over the network. If that were the case I'd consider some other type of source, such as a PC with multiple soundcards located in a central wiring closet, with long audio runs to the bedrooms, more in line with a typical whole-house audio setup.
