I have been running some tests over the last few days. My SB3 is wired via Devolos to the router. From there I have a choice of Dell high performance PC, Qnap TS-101 and ReadyNAS NV. All three have identical FLAC music files and differ only in processing power and memory (hard disks aside). The best test is to run Random songs (200 ahead, 5 back) as this really puts pressure on the processor. In fact if you skip forward a song you will invariably get stuttering or a pause because of the way Slimserver creates the random list.
On the PC I get a very short silent blip, on the Qnap and NV I get up to 10 seconds of silence (it varies) before music resumes. Same thing happens with stutterting on normal play. It only happens occasionally but is it worse and more frequent on the NAS's than the PC. So my view is it is a bug and related to processing or memory requirements. -- Heuer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heuer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2543 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24850 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
