The firmware is already sitting on your SlimServer, as part of the 6.5.0 installation. The Squeezebox just needs to connect to the server for the upgrade.
Let us know if it works. If the Squeezebox is on your network - that is, it has a good wireless connection, and it has an IP address on the same subnet as the server, then it shouldn't really make any difference if it's connected wirelessly or via wire.
