I got my N800 yesterday ($399 at CompUSA), and WOW, haven't been so impressed in the bang-for-the-buck category since, well, the Squeezebox.
Obviously the Nokia770 skin is the balls (thanks, Ben!) and although I don't have the older model for direct comparison, popular opinion suggests the next-gen processor has made a big difference in performance beyond mere MHz. The dual memory slots certainly are a capacity bonanza. Developers can even set up a simple multiboot system by swapping cards in the internal slot after setting the config to start preferentially start from an ext2 or ext3 partition if present.
