Since I work from home and rarely drive anywhere (thankfully), I'm not sure it's that useful to me, but then gadget lust is not always only about utility. The thing that jumped out about your summary of the kit was that you can't simultaneously charge the 770/800 and the GPS unit. Bwaaa?
