I've experienced the problem with the web interface not starting up under 32-bit Vista Business with AVG. I managed to get it working by making the SlimServerMySQL service startup automatically and then disabling the tray program from startup using MSConfig. If I start the tray program manually, it reports that the server hasn't started (which is incorrect) so I just don't use it.
