I've got the latest flash and since increasing the swap space to 128Meg the problem seems to have gone away.
I dual boot from an SD card, and I'm about to patch the kernel and buy an 8Gig SDHC card so I'll hardly be short of space. Here's me a Linux virgin until 10 days ago and I'm already patching things!
