Thanks for the reply. I don't have a laptop available to test the system. I can however ping the SB3 from my PC, which is hard wired to the router.
The "port opening" is in the Belkin control panel section called "virtual servers." I set the IP address for the PC running Slim Server so calls on the three ports I mentioned are directed to it. Not sure if this is required, but knew those three ports are used by the SB3. The router is connected to a separate DSL modem.
