Slimserver has been working fine on my XP machine until this past week. I have loaded some other software (TurboTax) and have put on the latest Microsoft patches - and Slimserver stopped working. I completely uninstalled slimserver, and even cleaned the registry of references to it. I than installed it again with a fresh download. Same behavior. On the task bar, the server reports that it is "starting" .. then in a minute or so it reports "stopped". Under XP Services, I started the slimserverMySQL manually, and then started slimserver. I get a message "The slimserver service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have not work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service." There is no evidence of a browser starting (IE 7). There are no messages at all when I try to start it from the taskbar or Programs list. How can I find out what is preventing slimserver from starting? Are there any logs I can look at?
