Anyway most (if not all) of the major record companies are abandoning DRM and allowing sites such as iTunes and amazon.com to sell non DRM MP3 files.
I am actually more concerned about the fact that very few download sites offer lossless music files for mainstream music. I can not see this situation changing either, with so many people owning iPods and happily downloading MP3s, there is nothing to encourage iTunes, amazon and the other big download sites to offer lossless files.
