Having lived in Australia I can understand the frustration. Crazy as it might sound though it does happen globally. I recently purchased a Leveno notebook from the US and had it posted back to China to save USD$1000.
I suggest you source them through a OS retailer and have them shipped. Alternately you could try expansys who specialise in grey-market products (they have an Australian website). If you want a retail contact from HK, I can probarly find my receipt and give you the details of the company. I'm sure either way you should save a heap.
