There is a missing piece or a bit of wrong information. Slimservers has no conversion rules for Mp2 and the Squeezebox cannot play MP2 streams. Either the stream in the in the M3U file are in fact MP3 streams or you have another app running with Slimserver to transcode.
As an example of how an MP2 satellite stream is fed into Slimserver look at this thread from about post 10 onwards.
