It's bizarre that the record companies stick to the DRM approach, as if that's going to stop file-sharing: it might for that specific file, but you have CD that has no protection!
Anyway, what I want is a subscription-based system whereby I pay a tenner a month and can download whatever I want in FLAC. My tenner is distributed to the artists based on what I listen to, using my last.fm profile. Downloading system should be a central server that coordinates file-sharing to limit bandwidth needs. This is, of course, almost the same as Napster was offering to the record companies before they sued it out of existence. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Actually, I'd pay more than a tenner, but don't tell the record companies ;) -- adamslim Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others SB+, EAR V20, Living Voice OBX-R2s plus some other stuff SB3, Charlize, Harbeth HL-P3ES ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adamslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45519 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
