It's bizarre that the record companies stick to the DRM approach, as if
that's going to stop file-sharing: it might for that specific file, but
you have CD that has no protection!

Anyway, what I want is a subscription-based system whereby I pay a
tenner a month and can download whatever I want in FLAC.  My tenner is
distributed to the artists based on what I listen to, using my last.fm
profile.  Downloading system should be a central server that
coordinates file-sharing to limit bandwidth needs.

This is, of course, almost the same as Napster was offering to the
record companies before they sued it out of existence.  [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Actually, I'd pay more than a tenner, but don't tell the record
companies ;)
