BTW, I should add that NetApp != NFS. That is NetApp >> NFS. You can't just use any garden variety NFS solution and expect that Oracle will be able to work worth beans. That may well be the source of the problems for the OP on this subject -- whomever they were, they made the mistake of trying to run Oracle on something other than NetApp, and that didn't work well.
