Hi all,

I have a problem with a Sharepoint installation, it seems that the DB
cannot not be accessed. But I am not 100% if that's the problem.
We use Windows Internal Database, windows 2003 standard server fully
update.

I tried to connect to the database with Microsoft SQL Server Management
Studio Express, but it always fails. With error 26- Error Locating
Server/Instance specified.
No one of the solutions found in google worked for me.
As I never tried to connect to the DB with this tool, I am not sure if
you can or not. Can anyone confirm that the Sharepoint Services DB can
be accessed with it?

I also tried to restore the DB, I can restore some table (with Symantec
Backup Exec) which means that at least the backup software can access
the DB.
But not the master table, because I can't start the Windows Internal
Database service in single user. Tried with -m in the start parameters,
no luck.
How could I start that DB in single-user mode?

Thanks,
Isaac
