Hi. Why are we talking about a book? Don't we already have books? E.g.,
Essential System Administration Unix System Administration Handbook and now The Practice of System and Network Administration and Time Management for System Administrators What's missing is an apprenticeship/internship program; in other words *practice* in application of said theory. Or a certificate that would be THE certificate. Whoever is excited enough by this to work on it, will work on it. LOPSA's contribution can be, to start with, to list all existing courses / training / certification programs that are available to new or entering members of the profession, as well as list organizations willing to intern or apprentice new sys admins. Unless of course there is such a list already? If not, I'd be willing to work on one...
