SOX does not have anything to say in this area - it only says 
(basically) that the CEO and CFO must be willing to go to jail if the 
financial records of the company are incorrectly reported. Your company 
can kill people with bad code all they want and not run afoul of SOX 
(although, I hope, a few other laws will apply!)...

(I was once on a team that was responsible for correcting SOX-related 
errors for $WORK.)
