Hi Gordon,
In the old days of OS 9, you could simply copy items to a Startup
Items folder but I haven't found that in OS X as of yet. if you have
these volumes in your dock, simply hit the down arrow when on the
item so that it brings up the Contextual menu. You can then choose
"Open at LogIn" and life will be good.
Otherwise, make sure you have the volumes mounted that you wish to
auto-mount. Then go to your System Preferences and choose Accounts.
You may wish to make sure that the VO cursor is not tracking the
mouse when in this preference as it gets to be rather annoying with
busy signals when it is tracking the mouse. You will need to "Click
the Lock to Make Changes" then navigate to the "LogIn Items" tab and
then activate it. use the "Item Chooser" (VO keys+i) to get the list
of items and find the "Add LogIn Item" button. Press return on it
then use VO keys+space to activate the button. A dialog will appear
where you can choose what you want opened at LogIn. In the "Where"
pop-up, select the name of your computer so that you can see all
mounted drives. Press cmd+2 to make sure that the File Outline is in
List mode. Navigate to the File Outline, interact with it and find
the item you wish to have auto-mounted. Once it is selected, stop
interacting with the Outline, and navigate to the "Add" button and
life should be good.
You can click on the "Remember this Password in my Keychain" check
box when logging into the volumes so that you don't need to enter
passwords at login. Not always a recommended practice but it's your
call.
Hope this helps.
Later...
