I did a little mucking about with Garageband and I mean a little. I
had a tough time figuring out where I was, but I hadnt' read much
documentation either, I just wanted to see what I could do out of the
box so to speak. I was able to remove tracks from the samples they
give you, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to apply changes to
keys like C, D, G, etc. I did find some of the buttons and such that
had a label so you knew what it was which seemed a little better from
the previous version I mucked about with.
I don't know how usable it is for a number of purposes, but seems a
little better.
Maybe someone who has had a great deal more experience with this type
of software will let us know the real deal.

I'll be checking out Garage Band next weekend, but I don't think
the odds will be in our favor. I'm hoping for the best. I'll keep
you all posted.

I have to be honest, I was wondering that very same thing myself
though its always nice to know if any alternatives exist out there.

Currently there are no updates. This is going to take a year
or more to communicate our needs to digidesign. Unfortunately,
O S 9 will have to do for some time.
