Hi,
The Mac mini should work fine. I purchased mine with a full gig of ram.
Later this your, I might purchase the new Mac mini, because I have
the PPC 1.42 GHz processor.
You should be able to do anything recording wise you want with the
new Mac mini.
The only thing I'd recommend is this. If you are not going to have a
monitor connected you might want to purchase the SVGA Composite video
adapter in place of a screen. In this way the computer will think a
monitor is really connected. This part is only about 20 dollars.

I am considering getting the mac mini only because I don't think I
can get a lone for 1700 or 1200 for the imac but may be able to get
a lone for 799 dollar
the stupid apple credit card denied me cause I only make 7 thousand
36 dollar a year cause of my ssi so far I haven't found a friggen
credit card that has a imcome limit that low. that I can even apply
for.
