Till the next one looses his or her head that is. Realy don't think Gabe
is the only unstable or volital person on this world.

I'm quite confident by removing the individual in question that the
activities of this list will be smooth and your moderating
responsibilities will be quite few and low key. Thanks!

Subject: My sincerest appologies for problems on the list
Hi
I've bene visiting family this weekend and so just returned Sunday
evening
to find a flood of emails about the discussion on this list getting out
of
hand, starting Saturday morning. I have already removed Gabe from this
list.
Why did this happen?
I have just been on the phone to a friend and member of this list to
find
out what Gabe has been doing. I got to the point with the traffic on
this
list and the inevitable spam that floods into my inbox to try and let
the
list run itself, unless any complaints were made, or I saw something
obvious.
I was informed of some of the things said my Gabe, and I realised I had
overlooked them because the subject lines related to speech engines, or
new
macs, or particular software apps, and without reading each mail I had
no
way of knowing something was wrong, until the complaints started
pouring in
on Saturday - I am very sorry for this.
So what now? As I said, Gabe has been removed from the Discuss list,
and to
make sure the list is better moderated in the future I will be getting
some
of the well known contributors to help moderate the list.
Again, I'm sorry this happened, and that I didn't see it earlier. For
more
than ten months I went through the tens of thousands of emails on this
list,
but in the past few months I have not been able to do this, and have
had to
filter based on subject line.
