Problems with mouse keys

Hi all,
I am using english in my administrator account and another friend of mine has 
her own account and i want to have it in swedish. I created it but when I 
enable the mouse keys and move the mouse to Swedish and then press 0 to hold 
down the mouse button followed by holding down number eight to move it upwards 
but nothing is spoken. Some times i hear Swedish but thats all. I have just for 
fun pressed the period key to drop but it is not moved. Any thoughts?
