Hi all. Today, I spent quite a bit of time at www.osxhints.com. I found a couple of interesting tips I hadn't heard before. I don't know if these have been on the list before or not, but here goes. First, if you'd like mail to display html messages in plain text, you can do it by typing this line in to terminal.
defaults write com.apple.mail PreferPlainText -bool TRUE
This doesn't work on every html message, but it does work on most of them.

The other thing I found out about was a neat little program called sogudi. This is an add on to Safari, and it allows you to do searches from the location bar. For example, you could press command l, then type goo mac os10 tiger, and it would search google for os10 tiger. Or you could type hint safari, and it would search osxhints.com for safari hints. There are a bunch of other built-in search shortcuts like, macupdate.com, version tracker, the wikipedia, yahoo, etc. You can add other search engines, and you can add shortcuts to sites you visit a lot. For example, I might set up a shortcut to my podcast web site www.darcyandholly.com, and call it dhs or something, and that's all I'd have to type in after hitting command l. Sometimes this might be faster then going through the bookmarks menu.
You can find sogudi at the following url.
