Hello Jane and List,
Just a little update before I install Safari 2.
As I mentioned before, I am having a problem with sluggish browsing. And I don't mean from slow servers, I mean it appears to be local. Well, I remembered that in Tiger at one point the discussion was regarding similar problems. And at that time, someone mentioned to Hide all. So after launching Safari, I pressed Command Option H and what do you know. Now safari runs like greased lightning. So for now, I'll just make sure I always hide all as soon as I launch Safari. I downloaded Safari 2.4 and will install it if I have other problems to explore this further.

I'm assuming what you want to do is to compare Webkit versions
rendering pages? Or is the application itself you want to compare?

Here's what you're probably looking for though:

The idea is to have a self-contained Safari using its own version of
Webkit, but if I remember correctly, they're going to be using the
same bookmarks and cookies and what have you, so if you have anything
particularly important you absolutely need, make sure to make a backup
of the Safari folder in the Library folder in your User folder (or
/Users/yourname/Library/Safari).

Hello,
I was looking on the Apple site to see if Safari 2 is still available.
But I didn't find it.
Does anyone know if it is available? And if it is, will I have any
conflicts between Safari 3 and the older Safari 2?
I want to use it as a comparison to Safari 3.
Thanks.
Dan
