First of all, you can play ogg files on iTunes; see
http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/xiph-qu/xiph-qt-0.1.8.dmg
Read the file enclosed with the component for installation instructions.
and download the xiph-qt (quicktime ocmonents). It says Quicktime but your
ogg files will play in iTunes.
Secondly, you can get flip4mac (quicktime components for the Mac for
Windows Media) and Windows Media player 9 for Mac at
www.microsoft.com/downloads
Use the "mac and other platforms" link and then you'll find the links for
both of these applications. The quicktime components is the current
application but I still also find I sometimes need Windows Media player.
You want the Windows Media Player that says it's a .bin file but the
extention when you download it will actually be .sitx.
If you do install Windows Media Player, you will need Stuffit Expander on
your system to decompress the file. I believe there is a link to the
website for stuffit expander on the Microsoft download page for Windows
Media Player, but don't go and buy anything; the free version will do
fine.
Another player I really like is vlc from www.videolan.org which plays lots
of
diferent file types.
