Subject: Re: how do I use sharp keys?
Hi Hank. When you start up sharp keys, you get a list of keystrokes
which is the default set. I don't think you can change any of those.
What you have to do is tab to the add
button, then press the spacebar to activate it. Once you do this, it
brings up a list of all the possible keys on the computer. This is the
list of keystrokes that you want to
reassign (from); then you tab three times to the list of keys you want
to assign to that function (to). Unfortunately, the edit fields where
you need to type the keystrokes
don't seem to work, and you have to scroll your way through the entire
lists to find the function and the keys to which you want to assign
those functions. Also, the list won't
respond to any keypress to jump you to a nearby one so you litterally
have to arrow through to the one you want. It's a bit tedious, and
sometimes some of the names aren't all
that intuitive. They are grouped into groupings such as: app, key,
num, media, special etc. The ones you want are probably quite a way
down under the 'special' grouping for
things like 'special: left alt' or 'special: left windows' etc. Once
you've mapped which function you want to assign a keystroke to, you
have to OK it and then write it to the
registry. You have to then restart your windows session for the
changes to take place. You have to add a new entry for every key
remap, it won't automatically assume that you
want to swap functions like the left alt and the left windows. Hope this
helps.
cheers

hello can some one please tell me how to map keys with sharp keys?
I am using bootcamp and want to remap my windows key and alt key, and set
the write alt key to be my applications key and set the write windows key
as
my alt key on the write side.
I can't figure out how to remap them using the sharp keys program
thanks
