Anyone using Max?

Greetings,
I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a program called Max?  I've been  
looking for a program to convert between various audio formats and  
repeatedly came across references to Max http://sbooth.org/Max/
So far, I seem to be able to navigate the program pretty well using  
VoiceOver, however, I can't seem to press any of the buttons, not on  
the main screen, not in preferences, etc...  Very odd as VO finds the  
buttons just fine -- pressing them just seems to have no effect.  I've  
also tried routing the mouse to the buttons and clicking, however,  
that didn't seem to make a difference.  I plan on posting something to  
the Max forums, but wanted to post here to see if anyone else has had  
the same experience.  If anyone has any other suggestions for a good  
audio conversion program, I'd sure be interested.
