ah, if you are reading an email message, you need to interact with the 
message, use vo keys with shift-fn-left/right arrows to go home and end.

I believe I have tried the fn key with out success, but I will try it
again.  When I tried with this email, for instance, the curser didn't
seem to move, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
