Dane, Did you want to obtain an Apple 2GS, or did you just want to
know about them? I don't have my 2GS any more because during the
Windows craze around here, my counselor told me that, I would never
get a job, using an Apple computer, and that Windows is the wave of
the future. Go figure... Incidentally, I wrote to the counselor and
told him that not only am I still using a Mac; I am conducting my home
business using it. With the Apple 2GS, you had to run either an Echo
2 synthesizer, Votalker, and there was another synthesizer that was
used at that time, too; it was from Street Electronics. Even though
my first computer was a 2GS, I believe the 2E has been around
considerably longer, has it not? I hated parting with it, but I was
young and naive and went along with my state agency. Richie

I only have a floppy disk of Outspoken here, perhaps you can get
back to me privately as I'd be interested to hear more about the
Apple 2GS, perhaps other people on this list may be too!

I remember the Apple 2E and almost bought one, but I liked my 2GS
so much, I hung onto it until I bought my first iMac, a G2
computer, that ran outSpoken. Unfortunately I don't have my
outSpoken CD, but if I run across another old iMac, I believe our
state agency has a copy of outSpoken on their shelves, and I would
be willing to make it easy for them to part with it. Richie

Hi,
I just felt like posting this thought while we are on the topic of
the first apple computers.
Does anyone else remember the old apple 2E?
I had one during late elimentary school and learned to type on
it. It also had an adventure game and some other games which I
played.
Oh how far we've come sinse my first computer!

Hi Dane.
Great podcast.
I also like to hear more about how Outspoken and the first
screenreaders works on the Mac computers.

Subject: Apples and Macbooks
Hi everyone!
Ok, its taken a while for Larry to put this up but my little
piece on
Apple and Macbooks (along with a few additions) <smile> is up at
http://www.blindcooltech.com
if anyone would like to have a listen. This contribution may be of
particular interest to those who are thinking of purchasing a
Macbook,
and who may be interested in some of the computers that Apple is
responsible for.
Please take some time to have a look around the site, enjoy some of
the other contributions made (you'll see some familiar names
there I'm
sure) <smile> and perhaps you may consider subscribing to the Blind
Cool tech podcast in Itunes.
