Understand that the flipdown plug that is attaached to the power brick is an ungrounded 2 prong plug. It's safer for you mac to use the standard grounded 3 prong plug that is supplied on that extention. They are one in the same. One is a cord that goes into the adapter slot and the small piece can be connected for shorter distances. Only one can be connected to the adapter at a time and one slides out so the other can replace it.
