I believe that this may be due to the Windows screen reader itself
allowing / engineering that action to happen separate from that of the
OS. <smile> Call me not churlish as I'll go and check it out a bit
later today so I actually know if I'm dreaming or not! and so as not
to waste your / others time! lol!

awcward, and it's rong. The most performed actions go to the most
convenient keys. And if you don't like keybord lay outs under

layouts. If vo has a command for open, why can't I change it from
vo down arrow or whatever stupid thing it is to the enter key?
Using enter as the rename key is a waste and for some one migrating
from windows to mac it could potencially cause a serious problem..

If I remember right, this was also used in Win 95 as well.
The only reason peeps were able to press the enter key to open
files and shortcuts etc. was because JFW or WinEyes made it work that
way.
