Tim, out of curiosity, does your time capsule have a firewall?… I'm assuming it does, but was wondering about security with a drive sort of sitting out there open as it were. I.E. it seems like someone WarWalking / driving, could have a field day with your data if it wasn't behind a FW.

Anyway, thanks, and have a lovely St. Patty's Day!…

Smiles,

Cara :)

Hi,

The 2Wire also has 4 RJ45 connectors for Ethernet.
So you can have up to 10 wireless devices and 4 ethernet connections.

TK: The Airport Extreme has 4 RJ45 ports which can be used either as one WAN port and 3 LAN ports or simply as 4 LAN ports depending on your networking needs. I don't believe that it is limited to 10 wireless clients either although the more clients accessing through any device is going to slow it down.

Dan continued: The older 2Wire had a USB port, but the new one doesn't

TK: The Airport Extreme still has the USB port which can be configured for a network disk, a network printer or both if you use a hub.
Dan continued: Also the HTML interface for the 2Wire is really easy to use with VO.

TK: the Airport Extreme comes with Airport Utility which is totally compatible with VO and allows you to configure the Airport Extreme rather easily. Myself, I have a Time Capsule which is an Airport Extreme with a built-in 500 GBHD for time Machine backups. I also have two Airport Express units connected using WDS for playing itunes music on either the upstairs or downstairs stereos. Everything works well and is extremely quick for Internet access and between devices attached to the network.
