usb works.  I use it.  I have my system sounds going through the main system 
and everything else going through the headset.  I can listen to music and 
work with vo and have the volumes set right.  When I want, I can put system 
sounds back in the headset but I cannot move the Main sound because there is 
no place on the system natively to do it so in the case where you want to 
redirect the Main output, or specific output you need additional software as 
is explained in an already posted message.
