Hi Mike,
Does the Mac Mini have a reasonable speaker built in or do you need to use
external speakers for Voice Over?
Regards.
Ian

Subject: I now have a mac
Hi all. I don't think my original message made it to the list, so I'll try
it again. I now have a mac, I ended up getting a mac mini. I couldn't see
paying extra for the 20 inch screen on an imac, and I love the mac mini's
portability. I'd like to thank David Poehlman for the help he has given
me,
I don't think I could have made it this far without his help. So far, I've
installed all the software and firmware updates, set all of the system
preferences, browsed the web a bit, and started to read the getting
started
guide, I'm hoping to finish that tonight and set up my email, I'm still
typing this message from my PC. One question about voice over, when
reading
continuously, is there any way to prevent it from saying space or new
line?
That's a bit distracting when reading the user's guide. Going from windows
to a mac has actually been much easier than I thought. The only strange
thing I've encountered, when I first fired up the mini for the first time,
I
ended up at a window where I couldn't even launch voice over, the system
would just play the error tone. Tabbing a few times and pressing enter got
passed it, but I have no idea what that window was. Any way, I'm really
enjoying my macintosh, and I'm sure it will only get better.
